The intention was to design a series of furniture items - table, chair/stool, coffee table & side table –
all utilizing solid natural materials of simple construction & composition that respond as objet d’art as well
as furniture. Douglas Fir represented a natural material beautifully textured & warm yet light enough in weight
that a thick chunky aspect could be afforded the objects without being overly heavy. The composition of each element
is such that structure & surface combine in a simple almost ‘trabeated’ sense – where in 3 dimensions support and
non-support elements utilise almost equal dimensions and the whole piece often consists of only 3-4 pieces of timber. Cost: |
